Mr. Snyder is retired from GlaxoSmithKline and has 37 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical Industry in computer sciences, operations research, international marketing, and finance. He holds a BSIM form Georgia Institute of Technology and a MBA from Drexel University. He served as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers in the US and Germany.
He is a Founder of PMI, Fellow, Volunteer Executive Director for 15 years, President, and Chairman of the Board. He has been awarded the PMI Man of the Year and is an Honorary Life Member of PMI. He received the 2010 James J O’Brien Lifetime Achievement Award from the PMI College of Scheduling. Jim is a founding member of the Delaware Valley Chapter, and the College of Scheduling. As a member of the PMI Global Project Action Team (1999 - 2000) he work to help structure the Institute for the future. The James R. Snyder Knowledge and Wisdom Center is named in his honor. He has served as both a member and Chair of the PMIEF and the Student Paper Award is named in his honor. He is serving as advisor to the PMI Delaware Valley Chapter.
